Vietnam - Japan MicroWave Workshop (VJMW2014)

In order to enhance the exchange of scientific research and expand international cooperation in the field of Electronics and Telecommunications in general, MicroWave in particular, "Vietnam-Japan MicroWave Workshop 2014 (VJMW 2014)" took place from 24 to 25 November 2014, at the VNU University of Engineering and Technology. VJMW 2014 was held under the technical auspices of the IEEE MTT-S and IEICE Microwave.

 Attending the meeting were Prof. Kenji Itoh, a member of the IEEE MTT- S; Prof. Minoru Fujishima, Vice President of IEICE ICD; Assoc.Prof. Nguyen Ngoc Binh, President of The Radio Electronics Association of Vietnam (REV), Chairman of Vietnam IEICE Section; Prof. Nguyen Thanh Thuy, Vice Rector of VNU University of Engineering and Technology.

This year, there were 30 Japanese scientists participated in the conference, including 16 professors and Japan's leading researchers in the field of MicroWave. The content of the workshop consisted of 02 Tutorials; 02 Plenary Talks; 10 Invited Talks and 24 Posters.

Assoc.Prof. Truong Vu Bang Giang, Dean of the Faculty of Electronics and Telecommunications, Head of the Organizing Committee said that: VJMW 2014 was organized with the following objectives: (1) To establish relationships, mutual understanding and promote scientific research in the field of MicroWave between scientists, graduate students, graduate students and students between Vietnam and Japan; (2) To prepare a series of Vietnam-Japan VJMW Workshop will be held officially and annually from 2015; (3) To have the presence of IEEE MTT-S and IEICE Microwave in Vietnam; (4) Share scientific information on MicroWave; and (4) To encourage the publication of young scientists in both Vietnam and Japan.

VJMW Conference 2014 was attended by representatives from a number of Japan leading telecommunications firms such as NTT-Docomo, Toshiba Corporation. The workshop is the first step for the establishment of IEEE MTS-S Section in Vietnam in the future.
