Curent Significant Research Projects

 In the period up to the present, VNU-UET has hosted a great number (about 150) of research projects, funded by various research programs of the VNU and of Vietnam government. VNU-UET staff members also participate in several joint development projects with other research institutions, government agencies and industry corporations, including overseas institutions.

Some significant research projects, coordinated by VNU-UET staff members are given below:

  • Investigations on design and fabrication of a signal transmitter, receiver and processing system for broad band signals in national sovereignty identification (power up to 3000 W at 20 GHz working frequency as the main technical specifications)
  • Components and device systems for the automatic supervision, control and monitor of public high block-buildings
  • Development of modern computer science based technological solutions for the reproduction of 3-D images of human faces from skull image databases to be applied in criminal and social inspections
  • Materials and devices synthesized on the basis of combined magnetostrictive-piezoelectric, magnetostrictive-magnetoresistant and magnetoresistant-biomagnetic effects; Epitaxial nanostructured ferroelectric and ferroelectric composite films
  • Nanostructured artificial multiferroics materials for a new generation of self-powered micro-tesla magnetic-field sensors
  • Properties of nano-structured hybrid materials for applications in electro-photoluminescence and photonics devices; Fabrication and application of organic light emitting diodes. OLED and microfluidics system for applications in biomedical and environmental analysis

  • Incremental knowledge acquisition for natural language processing
  • Technologies for information retrieval and transmission on peer-to-peer networks. Technologies for web data mining and communications.
  • Models for the amino acid transformation caused by viruses
  • Chaos-based compressed sensing for rapid nuclear resonance imaging
  • Device system for automatic angular positioning, control and alignment of satellite signal receiver using an integrated piezoelectric-magneto-restrictive weak-magnetic-field sensor
  • Social network based analysis of community orientations and its application in tourism enterprise and of technological products businesses. Methods for analysis and review of social network community conceptions, and some test application approaches.
